Eveleigh Heritage Walk Project Application

EXHIBITION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

The RWA has lodged an Environmental Assessment for the Eveleigh Heritage Walk (EHW) with the Department of Planning. It was on public exhibition from the 16 July to 15 August 2008.

The EHW will provide a pedestrian and cycle link across the rail corridor between the North Eveleigh site and Australian Technology Park (ATP). The EHW will support the revitalisation of the Redfern-Waterloo area, and increase connections and access in the area.

The EHW is comprised of the following elements:

  • steel bridge structure with stainless steel mesh screen (anti-throw barrier),
  • total length of bridge including ramps is 320 metres,
  • width of the concrete deck is 4 metres,
  • height of bridge above the rail corridor is 9 metres,
  • concrete ramp and staircase at the ATP and North Eveleigh sites, and
  • appropriate landscaping at ATP and North Eveleigh site.
